Mission Statement

It was a snowy day in November, and the Metro’s doors swung open to allow the members of Writers Ubiquitous into its warm embrace.”I have the site set up…officially,” Rex squealed. Siren twitched as the sound grated over her ears.”Oh my God, really?” E. said, her words dipped in sarcasm.”That was really quick, good job!”"It only took you, like, half a year,” Siren said.”Well, if SHAYNE would get her ass in gear…” Rex glared my way.”I’m a very busy person,” I replied, flicking a booger at him.”Yeah, doing nothing.” Spooky pushed me over my chair; I fell.”What are we doing here?” Ken said. “Not that I’m complaining…”"Well…” I said, righting myself, “we’re here to get all the other writers’ attention, bring them together in one spot– metaphorically speaking– to help critique, publish, protect individual works from the evil of plagarism, inspire, make fun, B.S., get back on topic, lose the topic again. You know the dealio.”"Why are we gonna do that?” Simplicity and LoM said.”Because every writer deserves to be read.” Siren answered before I could.”And how, pray tell, are we going to do that?” Nicoletta inquired.”Annoy people until they come to the club.”"That won’t work, Shayne.”"Oh.”"We’ve already got the website up, if only SHAYNE would do something.”"I will! I’m typing the mission statement right now!”"Oh. Good job.”"We’ll work on the how.” With that, Writers Ubiquitous of Casper, Wyoming, started the meeting, with a lot of interruptions, mindless rants, and punching of Rex.Hopefully we’ll get something accomplished.
